Becky Lynch Calls Ric Flair ‘Sad’, Flair Responds

On Monday, Becky Lynch cut a promo on Raw towards her Survivor Series opponent, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, which prompted a response from Charlotte’s father, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, on his Twitter account.

Becky Lynch was asked about Flair’s comments by Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, when the Raw Women’s Champion admitted she had typed out a response to Flair, but deleted it because it was ‘sad’.

Lynch said:

“Look, I saw that tweet. The one you’re referring too, the one I’m referring to. I wrote out a response that would’ve been quite biting, and I deleted it and I let it go because I think it’s really sad. This a legend at one point. This legend, a 16 World Champion Ric Flair, is now jealous of me. That’s cool, it’s cool for me. And he’s now trying to use me to get clout, to promote whatever he has going on next because he’s dug himself into a bit of a hole with other things. So I kind of just was like ‘ah, let me let him out of it because it’s kind of sad’, you know? It’s kind of sad.”

Ric Flair saw Lynch’s comments, and responded in a way that only the Nature Boy knows how, by capitalising every word in a tweet talking about how he owns the right to call himself  ‘The Man’, including a screenshot of an article you can find on this very site, written by the mighty Tempest.

Flair said:

So Disappointed! I Did This Out Of Respect For You @BeckyLynchWWE! It Made You Millions & Made Me Nothing. After 40 Years Of Being The Man… The Company Doesn’t Own It, And Neither Do You! I’ll Always Be The Man! Ask Your Husband.

UH OH!

Becky also spoke about her real life heat with Charlotte Flair to Helwani, and why she got so heated during the now infamous ‘title exchange’ between the two.
