Becky Lynch has made her return to WWE at WrestleMania 41 night two at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas tonight.
Lynch’s WWE contract expired in May 2024, but she re-signed a few months ago and was part of the promotion for Raw on Netflix.
Tonight, she made her on-screen return as Lyra Valkyria’s tag team partner, replacing Bayley who was removed from the match.
So it’ll now be Valkyria and Lynch challenging Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
During the night one Countdown show, Bayley was shown after being attacked backstage, menaing Valkyria had to find a new tag partner, which is the role Lynch ended up filling.
The storyline with Lynch replacing Bayley as reportedly been planned for weeks, and wasn’t due to a legitimate injury to Bayley, unlike the removals of Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio elsewhere on the Mania card.
Lynch has history with Valkyria from NXT in 2023 – as well as being an inspiration to Valkyria prior to that as a fellow countrywoman from Ireland.
Lynch also has history with Liv Morgan as it was Morgan who beat her in her last match in May, and has since claimed to have “retired” Lynch.
As far as the match itself, Lynch and Valkyria scored the win and are now Women’s Tag Team Champions, after Lynch pinned Morgan.
