WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch has addressed plans for her championship defense at Clash In Italy.

Lynch and Sol Ruca’s non-title bout at the May 23 Saturday Night’s Main Event special ended very quickly, with Becky Lynch disqualified after just two minutes, following Lynch pushing referee Jessika Carr into the path of Ruca’s Sol Snatcher.

Following the match, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Lynch will now defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca at Clash In Italy on May 31.

Becky Lynch has now taken to Twitter to address this, first tweeting:

I CANNOT BELIEVE that Sulky Sol is being REWARDED with a match for the MOST PRESTIGIOUS TITLE in wrestling (MY IC title) after CLEARLY and DELIBERATELY ATTACKING a WWE official!!!! THANK GOD I went BACK and STOPPED her from picking the bones!!!! She was FOAMING at the mouth!!!!

She followed up with another tweet, writing:

I don’t like POWER MAD Jessika Carr and her CROOKED ways but I stepped in like a HERO to PROTECT those that CANNOT protect themselves!

The crowd were chanting “ONE MORE TIME” at me to MAKE SURE SADISTIC SOL wouldn’t get back up! MANY BECKY BELIEVERS told me they were SCARED she would come for them NEXT!!!!!

The Saturday Night’s Main Event match result left many fans scratching their heads, with Lynch celebrating technically losing a match to the recent NXT call-up, and the DQ being played like Lynch escaped Ruca, despite the Women’s Intercontinental Title not being on the line.

Sol Ruca’s first few weeks as a Raw star haven’t been as smooth-sailing as the likes of Ethan Page’s first main roster feud, but with a title match now booked, we will likely see Ruca build momentum and establish herself as a top prospect on the red brand.
