Becky Lynch Vs Charlotte Flair At Fastlane Confirmed

Becky Lynch Vs Charlotte Flair At Fastlane Confirmed

There was a major development in the Raw Women’s Title saga tonight on Raw.

Stephanie McMahon called Ronda leaving the title in the ring last week “blasphemy” and Charlotte’s claims that Raw would be her coronation as “presumptuous” then made a big announcement:

All charges against Becky Lynch had been dropped and her 60 day suspension was over effective immediately. Steph then confirmed that Lynch would be on Raw to sign a waiver that absolved WWE of any blame should she get hurt. Yet another storyline lifted from Steve Austin in the Attitude Era.

In an even more shocking reveal, Steph that announced that Becky Lynch would face Charlotte Flair at Fastlane with the vacant Raw Women’s Title on the line! Erm, okay? Quite why two SmackDown stars are battling over the Raw Women’s belt is anyone’s guess.

Anyway, that became moot in the final segment, which was a contract signing for the Fastlane match, when Ronda Rousey crashed the party and demanded Stephanie hand her the title back. Ronda claimed she did not in fact vacate the title but was merely giving the McMahons a week to think about it.

Steph changed the Fastlane match on the fly, telling Becky that if she lost then she was “done” but if she beat Charlotte she would be added to the WrestleMania match to make it a three way. The crowd reaction to that was far smaller than you would expect.

It’s probably because nobody really wants Charlotte in the ‘Mania match and the logic behind some of the story they are telling is baffling. But it is what it is – they are meandering their way to the eventual three-way that we all know is coming.

After getting her belt back Ronda snapped, turning full-blown heel with an angry promo on the crowd before decking Charlotte then giving Lynch an almighty shoeing. Ronda repeatedly took down the defenceless Lynch with punches and locked on repeated armbars. Becky was unable to mount any offence.

Stephanie then cut a promo backstage, admonishing Rousey for her behaviour, near enough giving away that WrestleMania was going to become a three way then warning Rousey that she would do what needed to be done if she acted that way again, which smells like the set up for writing her off TV following WrestleMania.

What do you make of the match? Let us know in the comments below.
