Becky Lynch Plans For WWE Contract Expiry Revealed

Becky Lynch Plans For WWE Contract Expiry Revealed WWE

An update on Becky Lynch has emerged, with her current WWE deal expiring on June 1, and no indication that she has signed a new one.

Recently, it was reported that Lynch would be “taking an extended leave” when her contract expires, but there’s now been another update.

The length of her hiatus wasn’t specified, although it was noted to be “not like a short period of time” according to Dave Meltzer’s sources.

Meltzer has now again addressed Lynch’s plans in the new Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:

Lynch’s contract expires on 6/1. As many speculated really since Mania, she is going to be taking time off.

My gut says that was the plan after her loss to Ripley, but when Ripley was injured, they brought her back in a short program to get over Morgan and have Morgan win the title from someone credible to build Morgan up for the Ripley program.

It was described to us as not a retirement, but a very extended absence.

The length of the “very extended absence” was not specified any further.

Tony Khan has recently addressed AEW’s approach to free agents and was asked specifically about Becky Lynch.

Under her current deal, Lynch had her final match on the May 27 episode of WWE Raw, losing to Liv Morgan in a steel cage match.

She sent a message to her fans post-match, that simply read “To be continued” along with a photo of her walking away.
