There has been an update on the WWE status of Becky Lynch amid a continued absence from television and recent comments she made.
After the WWE Legends episode featuring Becky Lynch aired on A&E, she posted a caption on Instagram that has had people talking since.
She wrote (alongside a photo with her and Seth Rollins’ daughter Roux):
It’s been a helluva career
Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.
While she didn’t explicitly say it, some fans interpreted this as a retirement announcement of sorts from Lynch.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, sources in WWE said that if that was an official retirement from Lynch, they weren’t informed of that being the case.
They also noted that they “didn’t believe” Lynch would retire through an Instagram post.
However, it was said that due to the belief she’s not under contract with WWE right now, it’s not as if she has an obligation to inform them of her decision to retire if that’s the decision she makes.
With all that noted, it was also mentioned that Becky Lynch is very much still warmly regarded in WWE, and the company wants to be “respectful of her space” after what she’s given to the company.
It was specified that she “would always be welcomed back into WWE”.
As of her contract expiring at the start of June, the belief was that she’d make a return when the time was right and she’d taken a break.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on Becky Lynch’s WWE status and future as they emerge.
