Former WWE Champions Explain Name Change

Former WWE Champions Explain Name Change WWE

WWE Hall of Famers Nikki and Brie Garcia, formerly Nikki and Brie Bella, have explained the reason for their name change.

Following their WWE departures, Nikki and Brie Bella reintroduced themselves as the Garcia Twins in March 2023.

Speaking on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Nikki and Brie explained that their new names reflect a new chapter in their lives.

Nikki explained:

“When we were wrestlers, the Bella twins, that was our gimmick name. So now that we’re no longer wrestlers when we were retired we’re like ‘Let’s go back to our roots.’ Mexican and Italian.

“We are entering this new chapter, about to be 40 in November. So we thought you know entering this next decade of our lives, let’s go back to our roots as entrepreneurs and mothers.”

Garcia was Nikki and Brie’s maiden name.

The duo were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021, ahead of WrestleMania 37.

The twin sisters recently ‘passed the torch’ to two WWE prospects, which you can read more about right here.
