Trent and Chuck Taylor, the Best Friends, have spoken about Trent’s mom Sue’s recent ventures onto AEW TV, including the street fight last night.
Sue had become a prominent part of the rivalry between the Best Friends and Santana & Ortiz, with the latter duo having destroyed her minivan a number of weeks ago.
Trent revealed the idea to get her driving the minivan on TV actually came when he saw the likes of Cody and FTR driving vehicles for their entrances. Speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, he said:
“That was like me and him were just watching the show and thinking, ‘This is like the fourth time someone’s come in with a car.’ There was a couple of weeks where people drove in. Cody, FTR. As a joke, I think I said it would be funny if my mom dropped us off in a van… She was really excited about it.. She loves doing stuff like that. She’s a little mark for herself.”
Taylor added:
“I said, ‘Yes, absolutely. Let’s do that.’ That was like six days before we did it. We went and told Tony (Khan) and he was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.'”
