Beth Phoenix has revealed that many years ago, she actually once made the now-insane-sounding pitch to be Brock Lesnar’s sister in WWE.
Phoenix tweeted:
Fun Fact: At one of my first gigs as a @WWE extra I pitched a detailed storyline to Michael Hayes to be brought in as Brock Lesnar’s sister. I had ZERO CHILL.
Incredibly, this might just about beat Chelsea Green’s greatest hits of pitching to be Dominik Mysterio’s girlfriend or Seth Rollins’ sexy nun, which, for some reason, she received a lot of criticism for.
Beth Phoenix joined OVW, which was WWE’s developmental territory, in 2004, the same year Lesnar was called up from OVW to debut on the main roster.
Phoenix was brought onto the main roster in 2006, by which point Lesnar had already left.
There seems to be some kind of jinx following them around, because when Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012, Phoenix left the company the same year.
Phoenix today released her first ever EP, titled ‘Stone Rose & Bone’, which you can listen to at this link.
