WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has explained why she and Montez Ford don’t work together onscreen.
While both Belair and Ford are two of the most popular stars on Raw, the married couple are rarely presented as a duo together on WWE TV.
Speaking on ‘Sherri’, Belair argued that she and Ford are both talented enough to forge their own paths by themselves.
Not wanting her marriage to become a storyline, Belair said:
“I just feel like we both have enough talent, he can have his own light and I can have my own light and we can both just go out there and support each other.
“And too, sometimes I feel like you go out there and you put your marriage in a storyline and then it’s like me having to fight another girl for my man.
“I’m like, ‘listen, I don’t have to fight for what’s mine, okay.'”
Belair did make her main roster debut in a Street Profits segment in April 2020, saving Ford and Dawkins from an attack at the hands of Zelina Vega, Angel Garza, and Austin Theory, but Belair made a name for herself in the main roster women’s division soon after.
Ford will compete in the Elimination Chamber match for the US Championship at this weekend’s premium live event.
Also at the show, a women’s Elimination Chamber match will be held to determine Belair’s Raw Women’s Title challenger for WrestleMania 39.
