Bianca Belair has paid tribute to the Raw Women’s Championship and her reign.
At WWE WrestleMania 38, Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch to win the Raw Women’s Championship. Over the course of the next year, Belair overcame challenges from Bayley, Sonya Deville, Alexa Bliss and others to become the longest reigning champion in the title’s history.
Then at Night of Champions, Asuka defeated Belair to finally end her record breaking reign.
On the June 9 edition of SmackDown, Asuka was presented with a brand new WWE Women’s Championship belt to officially replace the Raw Women’s Championship and thus retiring the title.
On June 12, Bianca Belair took to Twitter to share a tribute to the title that she helped define for 420 days. The E.S.T. of WWE tweeted:
That RAW Women’s Title means SO much to me. The journey was full of blood, sweat, tears, black eyes/stitches, hardwork/grind, sacrifice, exhaustion, but MOSTLY PRIDE & JOY that led me to be the Longest Reigning RAW Women’s Champion. I am so grateful to be a part of this history!
Belair was promised a rematch for Asuka’s title, but Charlotte Flair made her return and jumped the line to set up a title match with The Empress of Tomorrow on the June 30 episode of SmackDown in three weeks.
