Big AEW Name Set To Become A Free Agent

Big AEW Name Set To Become A Free Agent AEW

A big AEW name is set to become a free agent on Friday, with their contract with the company set to expire.

Former WWE star Matt Hardy left AEW back in April, with him opting not to sign a new contract with the company.

Matt has since been working for TNA, with his brother Jeff still under an AEW contract, but that is set to no longer be the case soon.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the former WWE Champion is set to become a free agent on Friday, June 14.

It was originally believed that AEW would add significant injury/sabbatical time to Jeff’s contract, but it seems as though that will not be the case as of now.

Matt and AEW had previously talked about a renewal, but Fightful notes that since then, there haven’t been any extended conversations in regards to Matt returning to the company.

TNA Wrestling sources told Fightful that they were interested in Jeff, given his history with the company.

Matt is set to challenge Moose for the TNA World Championship on tomorrow’s TNA Against All Odds pay-per-view, the same night Jeff becomes a free agent.
