A big AEW name and WWE Hall of Famer has given his thoughts on integender wrestling, saying he wouldn’t book it because it isn’t logical.
Jim Ross, who works as the lead announcer and senior advisor for AEW, discussed man vs woman matches on his Grilling JR podcast.
He said:
“I never ever was comfortable with intergender matches. Tessa Blanchard did it in Impact. Quite frankly, Impact is not a mainline broadcast. They work their ass off but they don’t have the exposure or the name identity that I’m sure they would like. But, they’re not going to get any better by having intergender matches. To me, it’s too much of a compromise. It’s too far of a stretch for my personal taste. Should they not be held at all? I would never book an intergender match. I certainly have called plenty of them because that was my job. If I had the pencil today, there is no F’N way I would book intergender matches because I don’t think they are logical.”
