Big Name Arrives In The US Ahead Of AEW Dynamite AEW

AEW star Kenny Omega has been reunited with his Golden Lovers tag-team partner Kota Ibushi ahead of their Blood & Guts match.

On the July 19 edition of Dynamite, the Elite will battle the Blackpool Combat Club in this year’s Blood & Guts contest.

It was confirmed on the July 12 Dynamite episode that Ibushi will join Omega, the Young Bucks and Hangman Page to face off against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and PAC.

Ibushi has now taken to Twitter to reveal that he and Omega have been reunited in the US ahead of his AEW debut.

Sharing a photo of himself, Omega and Michael Nakazawa, Ibushi tweeted:

All right! ! All that’s left is to do it! The main who does not know what will happen.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited to fight in a cage!

change the world! ! !

(Translated from Japanese)

Ibushi and Omega’s goal was to ‘change the world’ when teaming with one another as the Golden Lovers.

The duo most recently teamed together in December 2018, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi & Will Ospreay at a NJPW Road To Tokyo Dome show ahead of Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Omega’s match against Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13 was notably his final match with NJPW before leaving the company to form AEW in 2019.

The Cleaner returned to NJPW for Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January, where he defeated Will Ospreay.

Ibushi hasn’t wrestled for NJPW since suffering a shoulder separation in the finals of the G1 Climax 2021 tournament.

He became a free agent in February after his NJPW contract expired.

Another AEW star has pitched a singles match against Ibushi, which you can read more about right here.
