Backstage details have been revealed on Big Boom AJ returning to wrestling at AEW Full Gear 2024 along with The Rizzler & Big Justice.
AJ, with Big Justice in his corner and The Rizzler as guest timekeeper, defeated QT Marshall in their match on the AEW Full Gear ‘Zero Hour’ show this past Saturday.
A couple of days later, AEW has announced on social media that AJ suffered a broken foot.
AEW tweeted:
While bringing the BOOM! against @QTMarshall on this past Saturday’s #AEWFullGear Zero Hour, Big BOOM! @ajbefumo suffered a broken foot but managed to fight valiantly and earn the victory in his #AEW debut in front of his son, #BigJustice, friend #TheRizzler, more than 10,000 fans at @PruCenter and millions of fans from around the world watching at home.
AEW looks forward to welcoming Big BOOM! A.J., Big Justice and the whole Costco Guys crew back anytime, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
In a separate report from Fightful Select, it was noted that AJ’s broken foot didn’t occur during the match, but it was actually earlier in the day.
AJ was said to have “largely kept it to himself” as he didn’t want to disappoint fans or “waste” all the promotion that had gone into the match.
We wish Big Boom AJ all the best in his recovery.
