The AEW World Tag Team Championships are scheduled to be defended on AEW Dynamite next week. The Young Bucks defeated Santana and Ortiz in a Texas Street Fight to become the new number one contenders.
This will be the first time that The Young Bucks and SoCal Uncensored will have crossed paths in AEW. The two teams have a long history of matches in Ring of Honor but this is their first in this new setting. The match will be SCU’s second defence of the titles since becoming the inaugural champions.
Nick and Matt Jackson have had mixed results in their tag team division so far. They got off to a big start at Double or Nothing by beating the Lucha Bros but they failed to make an impact in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament. They followed that performance with a loss to Santana and Ortiz at Full Gear before getting their win back on Dynamite.
It may be early to take the titles off the inaugural champs but the Young Bucks are the biggest stars in the division. Will they win the titles next week? We shall have to wait and see.
