Big Championship Match Set For NXT’s USA Network Debut

Last week on NXT, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish of Undisputed Era defeated The Street Profits to capture the NXT Tag Team Championships.

On this week’s edition of NXT, it was revealed that Fish and O’Reilly’s stablemate Roderick Strong will also get a shot at gold on NXT’s debut on the USA Network on September 18.

On this week’s show, NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream defeated Kona Reeves in a non-title match. Strong then set fire to Dream’s purple couch after the match.

This was used to set up Dream vs. Strong for the NXT North American Championship on the first episode of NXT TV on the USA Network.

With NXT having a two week start over AEW on TNT, Triple H will want to ensure that his black and gold brand produces two of the most exciting episodes of TV to date.

With O’Reilly and Fish the NXT Tag Team Champions and Adam Cole the NXT Champion, it would appear likely that Roderick Strong will defeat Velveteen Dream to win the NXT North American Championship.

I will be very surprised if the ending to the first-ever NXT TV show on the USA Network is not all four Undisputed Era members celebrating with their championship belts.

Also booked for the show is a triple threat match between Io Shirai, Mia Yim and Bianca Belair. The winner will challenge NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler at a later date,
