Big Change To The SmackDown Tag Title Contenders Tournament WWE

A big change to the SmackDown Tag Title Contenders Tournament has taken place on tonight’s show.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were scheduled to face Hit Row in the semifinals of the SmackDown Tag Title Contenders Tournament on the January 27 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Before the match was underway, The Viking Raiders attacked McIntyre and Sheamus from behind to get some revenge for being eliminated from the tournament last week.

This caused McIntyre and Sheamus to choose to go after the Raiders instead of take part in their scheduled bout against Hit Row.

WWE official Adam Pearce made the decision to replace the duo with the new tag team of Ricochet and Braun Strowman.

After a competitive contest, Strowman delivered a powerbomb to Ashante Thee Adonis to give himself and Ricochet the win and advance to the finals of the tournament. They will now face the winners of Imperium vs. Legado Del Fantasma in the finals.

Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre will all compete in tomorrow’s Men’s Royal Rumble match at the titular event from San Antonio, Texas. For the full lineup for the Royal Rumble 2023 event, click here.
