Big E Has Bold Prediction For His 2022 WrestleMania Opponent

Intercontinental Champion Big E has not only predicted how he will end 2021, he has already foreseen his opponent for WrestleMania 38.

WrestleMania 37 is less than a month away. While many are anticipating the biggest WWE show of 2021, Big E already has his sights set on the 2022 WrestleMania main event.

Speaking directly to Paul Heyman on Talking Smack, Big E stated that he’s going to defeat Apollo Crews at Fastlane. Determined to be a fighting champion, Big E promised to defend the Intercontinental Title for a full year, before challenging for the Universal Championship in 2022.

Explaining that he doesn’t care if Roman Reigns is still the titleholder, he is planning to walk out of WrestleMania 38 as a double champion.

Here is the full quote:

“I’ve learned how shark-infested these waters really are. But you see, this is my Intercontinental Championship. I’m going to beat Apollo Crews. I’m going to decimate Apollo Crews. I’m going to walk into WrestleMania, and I’m going to defend his Intercontinental Championship. And then, I’m going to defend this title for a whole calendar year.

“Then, I’ll come back in 2022 at WrestleMania, and I will stand there, deserving beyond a shadow of a doubt, deserving that Universal Championship opportunity. I’ll deserve it more than anyone. If Roman Reigns still holds that title, that will be my match. When I walk out of WrestleMania 2022 as double champ, and I beat Roman Reigns, or whoever has that title then, we’ll talk.”

Apollo Crews will challenge Big E for the Intercontinental Championship at Fastlane on March 21. The final pay-per-view before WrestleMania 37, this match will have huge implications for The Show of Shows.

Apollo has recently embraced his royal heritage. Currently wrestling with a meaner persona, Crews has claimed that his humbleness always held him back from becoming a major star.
