New details have emerged regarding the status of injured WWE star Big E, including a new role he has undertaken in recent weeks.
Big E has not appeared on WWE television since the March 11 edition of WWE SmackDown, where a botched overhead belly-to-belly suplex delivered by the Brawling Brutes’ Ridge Holland saw the New Day member break his neck.
While Big E seems to be healing up well, it it not yet known when or if he will return to the ring.
However, that is not to say that he hasn’t been keeping busy, as it seems he has undertaken a new role in the company.
Speaking to SI.com, WWE’s head of talent operations and strategy James Kimball spoke about how Big E fits in with the company’s recruitment and development programme:
“E is such a critical part of what we’re doing. This recruitment strategy is really hitting home for him, and it’s something we should have had when he was a collegiate student-athlete at Iowa.
“He’s such a great ambassador, and he can relate to these athletes. He’s presenting with shared experience—that goes a long way.”
