New WWE Champion Big E’s WWE status has been clarified, after the SmackDown star winning Raw’s top title on last night’s show.
Despite Big E teasing a Money in the Bank cash-in on Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship, he ultimately chose to face Raw’s Bobby Lashley, defeating The All Mighty to claim the WWE Title.
As per PWInsider, Big E will remain on the Raw roster moving forward. The WWE Champion has officially been reunited with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day full-time following his title victory.
WWE has officially confirmed the dates of the upcoming draft, which will take place early next month.
It has been pointed out that Big E is just the fifth former NXT Champion to win either the WWE or Universal Title, behind Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre.
Tonight’s episode of NXT will be the first of a new era, following WWE changing their recruitment strategy to focus on younger athletes, opposed to independent stars.
