Big E has reacted to his former New Day teammates losing the WWE World Tag Team Championship to the Judgment Day.
The June 30 episode of WWE Raw saw Finn Balor and JD McDonagh become two-time World Tag Team Champions.
With Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ latest reign as WWE World Tag Team Champions coming to an end, Big E has reacted to the change in a somewhat mocking way.
Speaking on the Raw Recap, Big E noted:
“Real solemn day in my household. So many tears were shed.
“Actually, I don’t know if you saw my Twitter, but I sent out a Seinfeld GIF. That’s a shame. Have you seen that one with Jerry? That’s a real shame. I’m real broken up about that.
“But look, they had a fantastic match. I thoroughly enjoyed that match. You know, the New Day busting out the Midnight Hour, which works when I was around, does not work when they use it. Yeah, very, very strange.”
Midnight Hour was a combination of a diving DDT and Big Ending, with the latter portion previously performed by Big E.
Speaking about the new champions, Big E went on to praise Judgment Day, who recently officially brought Roxanne Perez on board, stating:
“But look, shout out to the Judgment Day. Right now, they are once again draped in gold, very successful.
“Seeing the addition, the official addition of Roxanne to the group as well. A lot going very well for the Judgment Day once again.”
With Liv Morgan having recently undergone surgery, Perez is one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions with Raquel Rodriguez.
Gold is also in the hands of Dominik Mysterio as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, although an injury has delayed plans for him to face AJ Styles.
Big E was ejected from The New Day on the December 2024 episode of WWE Raw, during a celebration of a decade of the stable.
