Big E made his return to mainline WWE TV on Raw, and with it came a major update on the future of the New Day.
Tonight’s December 2 episode of Raw played host to the 10-year New Day celebration, which came after weeks of issues between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Many fans predicted the segment would lead to either Kingston and Woods splitting up, or Big E returning to lead the charge for a happy reunion.
However, it was something entirely different that went down.
Just as it looked like Kingston and Woods were about to make an emotional announcement of either a split or retirement or something of that nature, Big E came out to the ring.
E made a proposal to try and gee them up, pitching to become their manager and appear alongside them every single week.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Kingston and Woods turned E down.
They both shot down his attempt and told him that if he really loved them he’d have come back to help them sooner, dismissing his explanation that he had a broken neck.
Woods and Kingston said that wasn’t an excuse, as Steve Austin and Edge returned from broken necks, and Kurt Angle won an Olympic gold medal with one.
Despite E’s pleas, Kingston and Woods dismissed him out of the ring and stood united, going forward together seemingly as a heel duo.
