While his latest WWE Championship run may have come to an end at WWE Day 1, Big E remains one of the most charismatic and physically impressive stars in the WWE.

Fitting then that a top star would have a megawatt entrance theme to hype up his arrival to the ring. Big E recently spoke to the PWI Podcast about his friendship with musician Wale and how his WWE solo entrance theme came to be.

When first approached about WWE wanting him to have a unique theme for singles competition, Big E assumed it would be some remixed version of the New Day theme but at the idea of a totally new song, he immediately thought of Wale, saying:

“The thing that I loved, in my mind if it’s a new theme, whatever we are doing my first thought is Wale. Reach out to Wale, can Wale do it, is he free?”

Wale is a noted fan of wrestling starring in memorable appearances on WWE programming such as performing at Wrestlemania 37 and hosting the memorable rap battle between The New Day and The Usos on SmackDown in 2017.

On his friendship with Wale, Big E said:

“I am so thankful for this brother because he has supported me in ways even beyond wrestling. I’m not into having celebrity friends for the sake of celebrity. We have such genuine conversations, he’s such a hilarious dude. Beyond music and wrestling. That’s my friend, that’s my brother and it’s dope to be able to go on this ride with him.”

Wale is no stranger to WrestleTalk, having appeared on Quizzlemania XIV and providing amazing moments that will live in infamy forever.
