Big E Doesn’t Want Xavier Woods To ‘Just Be A Foil’ In WWE

Big E has opened up about the positions of his former teammates, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, within WWE.

At Money in the Bank on Sunday, Kofi Kingston will challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. On recent episodes of Raw, Lashley has tried to brutalize Woods to get under Kingston’s skin.

Speaking with Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Big E praised Woods, pointing out that he’s extremely entertaining. Wanting to see his friend to receive more opportunities, Big E said:

“Kofi is a guy who has been around so long, but has never really just rested on his laurels. He deserves that opportunity.

“Another guy that I want to beat the drum for is my man, Woods. He’s a guy who has been extremely entertaining. He’s done a ton with UpUpDownDown and G4, and I think has really kind of paved the way, in certain ways. It’s inspiring to see so much talent who are inspired by him and his work ethic and his hustle.

“But he’s not just all those things, he’s a great wrestler as well seeing the match he had about a month or so ago with Riddle and tearing it up. So he’s a guy I want to be seen given more opportunities. Be given that singles run and not just be a foil when Kofi has a singles push.”

On the July 12 episode of Raw, Xavier Woods rolled up Lashley for the win. The previous week, Woods and Kingston defeated Lashley and MVP in tag team action.

Big E is set to compete in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match this weekend. WWE are reportedly yet to make a decision internally as to who will become Mr Money in the Bank.
