There was a big heel turn on tonight’s July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite after the conclusion of the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
To end tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Mariah May viciously turned against her best friend and mentor, Timeless Toni Storm.
After beating Willow Nightingale in the final of the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament, Mariah May celebrated in the ring with the AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm.
By virtue of winning the tournament, May had earned a title shot against Storm at the upcoming August 25 AEW All In London event at Wembley Stadium.
Their sweet embraces wouldn’t last much longer as by the time the pair got up to the entrance ramp and Mariah May claimed her tournament winner’s belt, things went awry.
May immediately clocked Toni Storm with the belt, continuing to assault Storm and eventually Luther, with referee Aubrey Edwards getting shoved down by May.
In the end, Storm was left in a bloody heap after Mariah May repeatedly beat her with her own shoe on the entrance ramp to close the show.
Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of Dynamite, the winner of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament was crowned as Bryan Danielson beat Hangman Adam Page.
Danielson will go on to have an AEW World Championship match against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In London 2024.
