A big match that WWE originally planned to have take place on this week’s episode of Main Event was scrapped at the last minute.
On this week’s episode of Main Event, Ciampa wrestled as a babyface, despite his recent heel turn, in a match against Apollo Crews. This was not the original plan for the show, however.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that the original planned match for main event saw Ciampa face off with former United States Champion Finn Balor, in a match that would have seen him working the heel role.
It is not known why the planned match was changed, or why Ciampa ended up working as a babyface in the replacement match with Crews.
