Big Title Match Planned For AEW Dynasty 2025

A big championship match is reportedly in the works for the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 6.

On last night’s AEW Dynamite (March 19) in Omaha, NE, Mercedes Mone successfully defended her TBS Championship against 20-year-old ROH regular Billie Starkz.

The win not only gave a resolution to the pair’s feud which stretched back several weeks, but also extended Mone’s TBS Title reign closer to that 300 day mark, a milestone which she is set to officially hit this Saturday (March 22).

Following the match both Mone threw some shade at Billie Starkz long-time mentor and reigning ROH Women’s Champion of over two years Athena, who would then hit back at the TBS Champion on social media.

With the interactions raising fans’ hopes that we could see the two square off inside an AEW ring, Fightful Select has revealed that a match between the two champions is in fact the current plan, with their social media interaction between the two being done on purpose to build to it.

Those within AEW told Fightful that Mone vs. Athena is the plan for AEW Dynasty on April 6, however, it was not stated whether the match would be for Mone’s TBS Title, Athena’s ROH Women’s Title or perhaps even both.

Athena has held the ROH Women’s World Championship for one two years, having originally won it back in December 2022.

Despite teaming together several times during their shared time in WWE, as well as facing off in multiple-women matches, Athena and Mone have never faced each other one-on-one.
