A new update has come to light regarding the supposedly planned date for the next edition of the WWE Draft.
Fightful Select reported a few days ago that, while nothing had been confirmed, WWE talent was of the belief that the draft would be taking place sometime shortly after Clash at the Castle on September 3, but that might not be the case.
In a new report today, Fightful has stated that the idea of the draft coming after Clash “doesn’t seem to be anywhere near a slam dunk anymore”.
One of the main reasons talent had been assuming the draft was taking place after Clash was because there were several Raw stars booked for the following episode of SmackDown… but those talents have reportedly now been unbooked.
Sources at the USA Network have reportedly told WWE talent that the draft isn’t happening in the immediate future, and actually, after next year’s WrestleMania is “much likelier”.
It was also noted that the USA Network doesn’t have a date listed at all on its internal calendar for an upcoming draft.
We will of course keep you updated on any more news as it emerges.
