An update has emerged on the possibility of Cody Rhodes getting added to the WWE 2K22 DLC line-up.
WWE 2K22 launched with a huge roster in March, ahead of WrestleMania 38 in April. At said WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes made his WWE return to huge fanfare.
With several waves of DLC content to come, some fans have speculated that Rhodes could be added to the game later this year.
Per Sports Gamers Online, WWE wanted Rhodes in the game, but were told it was far too short notice to officially add the American Nightmare as DLC.
The report noted that a person close to the development team said:
“WWE tried, but it was quickly shot down. They knew it was unlikely, but you don’t know for sure unless you ask.”
Rhodes has been presented as one of WWE’s top stars since returning to the company, featured front and center on advertising for several upcoming shows, including Hell in a Cell. At the June 5 Premium Live Event, Rhodes will do battle with Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match.
