SmackDown star Billie Kay has commented on the new tag team between former partner Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans that has formed since the IIconics split.
The former Women’s Tag Team Champions Kay and Royce were separated in the WWE Draft in October as Kay was moved to SmackDown and Royce remained on Raw.
There were reports that this would likely have led to singles push for Royce, but instead she got put in another team, this time with Lacey Evans.
Billie Kay, who has shone on her own on SmackDown since the split, spoke about the new parternship on WWE’s The Bump, which tends to be an amalgamation of in and out of character interviews.
Following Royce and Evans’ win over Charlotte Flair and Asuka this past Monday on Raw, Kay said:
“First off, what a massive win for them! They beat the Tag Team Champions on Raw. I was watching, and I was cheering Peyton on. The IIconics is such a soft spot for me, but I will always, always, always be there for Peyton and be her biggest supporter.
“She’s found a new partner with Lacey Evans. Let’s be honest: Lacey is a little bit of a nut. But then again, you need that contrast in a tag team. As long as she treats my darling Peyton right, I’m all for them going as far as they can as a tag team.”
