AEW Star Reveals Original Plan For ‘Horrible’ WWE WrestleMania Match WWE

AEW’s Billy Gunn has recalled the original plan for his match against The Shield at WWE WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

At the event, Gunn teamed with Road Dogg and Kane to face Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) of The Shield.

The Shield ultimately picked up the victory, squashing the wrestling veterans in under three minutes.

during a virtual signing for Captain’s Corner, Gunn noted that the bout was originally set to go longer.

Describing the bout as ‘kind of horrible’, Gunn said:

Well, it was supposed to be longer but it was unfortunately too short so, I think we only had eight minutes and that kind of was horrible [time for the match against The Shield at WrestleMania 30].

The wrestling veteran has recently been appearing on AEW TV alongside Max Caster & Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed.

This duo won the AEW Tag Team Championship from Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland of Swerve In Our Glory at Rampage: Grand Slam in September.

The Acclaimed will defend their gold against Swerve In Our Glory at AEW Full Gear.
