An update has emerged on Anoa’i family member Zilla Fatu, who will no longer be appearing for a notable promotion.
Since the son of the late Umaga’s pro-wrestling debut in July 2023, fans have speculated that Zilla Fatu could soon join WWE to wrestle alongside or against his family members.
While Zilla has been establishing himself in several independent promotions, a top indy company has now cut ties with the rising star.
Ahead of Friday’s GCW show in Philadelphia, the promotion took to Twitter to announce that Zilla won’t be appearing for them “for the foreseeable future”, following thw two sides reaching an impasse.
GCW shared the following statement:
Zilla Fatu will not be appearing on tonite’s GCW event in Philadelphia, or any GCW shows for the forseeable future.
We tried our best to avoid this situation, but we have reached an impasse. We wish him the best.
Matt Tremont will now face SLADE tonight at #GCWAura in Philly.
Zilla Fatu previously missed the August 4 GCW show in New Jersey, after attending WWE SummerSlam the night prior.
It was reported at the time that Zilla missed the GCW show because of travel delays and cancellations.
Zilla Fatu currently holds the HOG Crown Jewel Championship, as well as the Reality Of Wrestling Championship in Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion.
We will continue to provide more updates on Zilla Fatu’s status as they become available.
