Following Sammy Guevara’s shock AEW TNT Championship win this past week on Dynamite, it was announced that on next week’s show he would be taking on none other than former WWE and current MLW star Bobby Fish.
Fish took to Twitter after Guevara beat Miro to challenge the new champion, and shortly afterwards the match was made official.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Bobby Fish revealed why he decided to lay down the challenge to Guevara.
“I’m home watching AEW just like everybody else. And I see this thing go down, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘okay, fortune favors the bold. And that title, and this mustache, would look friggin’ fantastic together. I’m like, ‘listen, I can sit on my hands here and do nothing or I could put my name in the ring, so to speak, and see what happens.’ So that’s what I did.”
He was asked how winning the TNT Championship would change his life, to which he once again responded by talking about his lovely moustache.
“That’s the plan, man. Like I said, man, I looked at that title and I got this mustache – they would look great together, and the only way to take that from him is to go and take it from him. So that’s what we’re doing.”
Fish’s former Undisputed Era stablemate Adam Cole will also be in action on next week’s show when he teams with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega to take on Bryan Danielson, Christian Cage, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in eight-man tag action.
