Former WWE NXT and AEW star Bobby Fish won his professional boxing debut on the Floyd Mayweather vs Deji undercard.
In the opening bout of the show, Fish faced off against Ghanaian boxer Boateng Prempeh. Fish ultimately secured the victory just over a minute into the second round.
While the decision was officially ruled a KO victory for Fish, Prempeh indicated that he had suffered an arm injury when the official initiated the count, which Prempeh didn’t answer.
Following the fight, Fish wished Prempeh the best, calling him a game opponent.
When asked whether he plans to step into the ring again, Fish stated that fighting is an itch he plans to continue scratching for a while.
Fish recently confirmed that he signed a two-fight deal with Global Titans, so will be fighting again after tonight no matter what.
Fish noted the following in an interview with MCW Backstage Pass (via POST Wrestling):
“It’s a two-fight deal. So I’m definitely fighting twice. This one has to be boxing.
“The next one, I would really like for it to be kickboxing or MMA because that’s what I’ve done. I’ve been doing martial arts since I was a kid and that’s what I love.”
AEW’s Sammy Guevara, who has been acting as a presenter at the event, noted that he expected Fish to win, but not in the manner he ultimately did.
Guevara also noted that he’s excited to see Fish’s next fight.
