Bobby Lashley has revealed that he feels somewhat dissatisfied by the conclusion of his storyline with Rusev and Lana from a few months ago.
The storyline saw Rusev’s wife Lana ditch him for Lashley, get a divorce, then marry Lashley, but the wedding was crashed by Liv Morgan who claimed she was in love with Lana, and then after a short TV mixed tag match that was about it.
Speaking with Digital Spy, Lashley said:
“I don’t think it had a proper conclusion. I think there was so much we could do. We had a full head of steam, people wanted Rusev to rip my arms off and beat me with them. I really don’t know what happened to tell you the truth. I think we were at the point where the revenge needed to happen and it didn’t. I don’t know where we could have went or where we were going to go with it. I just wish that I could have had the match that I wanted to have with Rusev. I’ve seen him in some great matches and I think I could have had one with him.”
Rusev was released by WWE on April 15 following a months-long contract dispute between he and the company.
Bobby Lashley is still with Lana on TV, although his new manager MVP seems keen to put an end to that. Lashley challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Backlash on June 14.
