Bobby Lashley Recalls WWE Hall Of Famer Approaching Him About Jump To Pro-Wrestling WWE

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has credited a WWE Hall of Famer for making him consider a career in pro-wrestling.

Bobby Lashley is one of the most dominant wrestlers currently working for WWE. The powerhouse has now recalled the beginning of his pro wrestling journey, revealing that Kurt Angle originally suggested for him to swap the amateur wrestling mat for the squared circle.

Speaking with Sidewalks Entertainment, Lashley recalled Angle approaching him at the Olympic Training Center, noting:

“I got into professional wrestling from amateur wrestling.

“I was amateur wrestling at the Olympic Training Center, and Kurt Angle came in, and he was doing a video with WWE, and when he was doing that video, he saw me, and he said, ‘Hey, you gotta get booked. You ever think about doing professional wrestling?’

“At the time, I was a big fan of Kurt through amateur wrestling and through professional wrestling, so of course, I was excited that he was talking to me about it, and then he and I exchanged numbers.

“One thing led to another. They called me back, and they offered me a tryout. I came and did the tryout, and they offered me a job, and the rest was kind of history.”

Lashley last wrestled on the November 14 edition of Raw, defeating Mustafa Ali in singles action.

The former US Champion currently has a win/loss record of 23-7 for 2022.
