Earlier this week, it was reported that Daniel Bryan had put pen to paper on a deal with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
The wrestling world over the past few days has been reacting to the news, including WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, who claimed on his Hall of Fame podcast that he is ‘not surprised at all’ with Bryan allegedly inking a deal with the promotion.
Booker said:
“I’m like Nate Diaz, I’m not surprised. I’m going to leave the last part off, but I’m not surprised at all, man as far as guys making the switch and going over. It’s war man, it really is and these guys have every right to actually do it the way they want to do it and if they’re not happy over here.
Booker continued, comparing Bryan switching companies to a Basketball player changing teams, saying:
“Daniel Bryan has had a great career in WWE, he was making money on the independent circuit, this guy was putting in the work. I’m not going to hate and the thing is WWE shouldn’t hate either. Basketball players go to different teams every year. We saw LeBron James leave Cleveland and say I’m going to South Beach. I understand, I get it, if I was one of those guys I might be thinking the same exact thing.”
The talks between Bryan and AEW only officially started over the last few weeks, though there were discussions within the company to bring him in back in May.
