Following Triple H’s creative takeover of WWE many things got switched up on WWE TV, including the commentary teams for Raw, Smackdown and NXT.
Among the changes made was the introduction of WWE Hall of Famer Booker T to the NXT booth, replacing Wade Barrett who was moved to Smackdown.
While Booker had plenty of experience in the role, previously serving in numerous stints on WWE’s main roster shows throughout the 2010’s.
However, despite his vast experience on Raw and Smackdown, Booker has revealed that he has preferred his time in WWE’s developmental brand.
Speaking on the Under The Ring Podcast, Booker would make the statement, citing more freedom as a reason he prefers Tuesday nights.
Booker said:
“I love doing commentary like I do it now, you know, because it’s my style,”
“It’s a little different than being on the main roster. I don’t have to be so politically correct or anything like that. It’s a different flavor as well. I don’t do it like most. I don’t talk like most, which is the beauty of it.”
While Booker has been a regular on announce teams for quite some time now he has also recently reflected on his time in the ring and even revealed a dream opponent of his that he never got to face.
