This week, Xavier Woods confirmed that he suffered a torn Achilles at a live event in Australia. It was later reported that he needed surgery and would be out of action for nearly a year.
New Day seems like it will be sticking together in Woods’ absence, with Kofi and Big E set to challenge The Revival for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships next week.
Speaking on WWE Backstage, two-time Hall of Famer Booker T was rather pessimistic with regards to a potential Xavier Woods return.
On the show, Booker T said that the injury Woods suffered is bad, and suggested that he might not be able to step back into a ring anytime soon.
I think Xavier Woods should be fine. WWE often makes injuries seem worse than they are in order to make the Superstar look rather impressive when they return ahead of time.
However, the Achilles injury that Woods suffered is still a bad one, so expect him to miss both WrestleMania and SummerSlam in 2020.
Everyone at WrestleTalk.com would like to once again wish Xavier Woods a speedy recovery from this nasty injury.
