WWE Hall Of Famer Believes There’s Still Something Missing From NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer believes there’s still something missing from NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.

At NXT Stand & Deliver, Carmelo Hayes defeated Bron Breakker to become the new NXT Champion. Hayes has successfully defended the title on three occasions since then, including a win in a rematch against Breakker at NXT Battleground.

On a recent episode of the “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T expressed his belief that something is missing from Melo despite stressing that he is good. The WWE Hall of Famer said:

“I can agree with you as far as something being missing as well. Maybe it’s just having that ability to go out and just beat up somebody flawlessly.”

“Wrestling someone is one thing, but going out and beating the guy up is something totally different. Carmelo maybe needs to think about raising his game as far as that goes.”

As previously reported, Carmelo Hayes recently commented on a potential WWE main roster call-up.

Booker T continued on to discuss why he is pleased Hayes wasn’t called up in the recent WWE Draft because he believes the NXT Champion is still a work in progress, saying:

“He’s a diamond in the rough that just needs to be polished. It’s nothing missing it’s just that they’re growing and they’re learning.”

Booker T is currently the color commentator on the NXT brand, but he is also the owner and trainer at the Reality of Wrestling promotion.

On the May 30 edition of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes defeated Noam Dar to retain the NXT Championship. Post match, “free agent” Baron Corbin attacked Hayes to signal his pursuit of the title.
