Anthony Ogogo Offers To Replace Tommy Fury & Fight Jake Paul

AEW’s Anthony Ogogo has once again offered to fight Jake Paul, following news that Tommy Fury has pulled out of the scheduled bout.

Jake Paul was originally set to box Fury on December 18, however the fight has now been called off due to Fury contracting a ‘non-COVID illness’.

Paul has revealed that Tyron Woodley has stepped in with 12 days notice for an official rematch. On Twitter, the Olympic bronze medallist pitched himself as a fitting replacement for Fury, noting:

“@jakepaul you s**tbag. I’ve seen one British tv star / sporting heartthrob has pulled out. This tv star / sporting heartthrob will happily take his place on 12 days notice . I haven’t had a pair of gloves on in 3 years but I’ll still spank you like the bitch you are. Fight me!”

Ogogo’s last professional boxing fight took place in October 2016 against Craig Cunningham. In March 2019, Ogogo officially retired from boxing due to issues with his eyes.

Ogogo returned to action during last week’s AEW Dark: Elevation tapings following eye surgery.

Jake Paul is undefeated in his professional boxing career, with wins over AnesonGib (YouTuber), Nate Robinson (former NBA player), Ben Askren (retired MMA fighter) and Tyron Woodley (MMA fighter).
