Braun Strowman has commented on defeating Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36.
Despite winning, Strowman was a replacement for Roman Reigns, who pulled out of the match due to his health history and the current pandemic.
Speaking in an interview on WWE’s YouTube channel, Strowman said:
“I don’t even believe it’s real. This is something that so many people have told me that I would never achieve. So many people told me that I didn’t deserve it because of what I’ve been through in life and things like that. This is proof right here that no matter what, if you work your butt off for something you believe in and dream, you can achieve anything. Right here is proof that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.”
He also tweeted:
It’s real.
The #UniversalTitle is in these hands. Thank you @Goldberg and the @WWE Universe who’ve always supported. #MonsterMania #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/OkLZxXLQD3— The Monster of all Monsters (@Adamscherr99) April 5, 2020
Strowman received a lot of criticism recently for comments he made on Twitter towards independent wrestlers who are struggling to get paid due to not being able to perform in the current climate.
