Braun Strowman has commented on interest and talks with other promotions following his 2021 WWE release.
While he was still with WWE, Strowman argued that he wouldn’t wrestle for anyone else after finishing up with the company. Following his June 2021 departure, Strowman wrestled several indie matches, as well as for his and EC3’s Control Your Narrative promotion but didn’t debut for a major company.
Strowman returned to WWE on the September 5 edition of Raw. Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Strowman argued that he kept his word by only working for himself, noting:
“We (Strowman and his agent) talked to everybody, people reached out about stuff. I kind of play around with the ideas and I always said in interviews, and people thought I was stupid for it, ‘I will never put on a pair of boots for anybody besides WWE’ and I stuck to my word.
“I never put on another pair of boots. I went out, started my own thing, worked for myself, gave young talent a place to come to work, make a living, and hone their craft in CYN. I stuck my guns. I will never wrestle for anyone other than myself or WWE. Here we are, the monster is home.”
Strowman last wrestled for WWE at WrestleMania Backlash 2021, facing off against Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre.
