The shocking news of Bray Wyatt’s WWE release on July 31 is still being talked about around the wrestling world nearly a week on, including by those within the company.
Per Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bray Wyatt was cleared from an ‘undisclosed physical ailment’ last Thursday (July 29), two days before his release.
Barrasso also adds that Bray signed a new contract with the company in 2020, with the actual length of the deal not being given. The report also notes that Wyatt is subject to the usual 90-day non-compete clause.
The notion of Bray’s release being due to budget cuts was a surprise to people in the company, as Wyatt was one of the company’s top merch sellers.
A photo surfaced earlier today that WWE was still selling Bray Wyatt merchandise at the stands at this week’s Raw in Chicago.
