Speculation over Bray Wyatt’s return has gone into overdrive after the emergence of a potential new clue.
Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, fuelled speculation after updating his Twitter bio with this cryptic message to followers.
The bio now reads:
“A villain is just a victim from a different story.”
This could be a reference to his previous character work where Bray Wyatt occupied polar personalities, including the menacing Fiend, insinuating the heel may be a misunderstood victim of circumstance.
The phrase is similar to a quote within the children’s fiction anthology The Land of Stories, by Chris Colfer, which includes the line:
“A villain is just a victim whose story hasn’t been told.”
The connection may be coincidental, but it echoes fairy tale imagery of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf that has been appearing in recent WWE teases.
Also of note is that the main villain in the anthology is called the Masked Man, and one of the stories includes a white rabbit.
Since the September 16 edition of SmackDown, WWE has been dimming the house lights during dark segments on their shows and playing Jefferson Airplane’s ‘White Rabbit’.
This, along with several on-air teases has led many to speculate about the potential return of Bray Wyatt, who hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 37 in April 2021.
The October 3 edition of WWE Raw revealed even more clues, which you can read about in full right here.
Wyatt was released from his WWE contract in July 2021. The popular star has reportedly had recent talks with WWE, but it was believed that these negotiations ‘stalled.’
Wyatt was recently seen training in a video with former boxing Welterweight World Champion Keith Thurman and coach Kaye Wilson has been circulating on social media, via EsNews.
More fuel was also added to the fire yesterday when it was reported that WWE had hired horror writer Rob Fee as its new Director of Longterm Creative, and as part of the new role, Fee has already been working on the QR code White Rabbit teases.
Fee also once pitched a Fiend-related movie to WWE which was under consideration before Wyatt was released, so there is a direct connection to Wyatt there.
