Bray Wyatt Honored Brodie Lee During Extreme Rules Return

Bray Wyatt Honored Brodie Lee During Extreme Rules Return WWE

The return of Bray Wyatt to WWE was much anticipated by wrestling fans and journalists who spent a considerable amount of time decoding much of the marketing in the lead up to the event.

It didn’t stop there, however, as it appears that Bray Wyatt’s appearance at WWE Extreme Rules included some references to the late Brodie Lee, real name Jon Huber.

Huber had performed for WWE as Luke Harper, becoming part of The Wyatt Family alongside Wyatt and Erick Rowan, and having a considerable impact on storytelling in WWE during this period, with many memorable appearances for the trio.

It wasn’t just the wrestlers themselves that had a lasting impact on wrestling fans.

The presentation of The Wyatt Family was well remembered and much talked about, in a similar way to Wyatt’s later The Fiend character and the Firefly Funhouse.

At WWE Extreme Rules, Wyatt was able to pay homage to his lost “brother”, as fans have pointed out the light that shone through the door Wyatt walked out from was the same as the light Brodie Lee walked out from f when he debuted in AEW.

It’s also been pointed out that the mask worn by Abby The Witch during Wyatt’s return segment was the same mask that was worn by Huber during his time as a ‘Bludgeon Brother’.

Celebrating the life of Huber is something that both AEW and WWE continue to do since the untimely death of the much-loved wrestler in December 2020 at the age of 41.
