AEW Star Injured, Out 6-12 Months

One of the breakout stars of AEW’s women’s division has been Anna Jay. She was set to compete in tonight’s Eliminator Tournament event, however she will be sidelined due to injury.

AEW announced today that Jay will need to undergo shoulder surgery. The diagnosis brings with it a lengthy recovery, as she is expected to miss the next 6-12 months. Here is the announcement:

It was also announced that Madi Wrenkowski would be replacing Jay in the tournament. Wrenkowski has worked for AEW before, wrestling a handful of matches on AEW Dark. Wrenkowski will wrestle Britt Baker on tonight’s show.

Anna Jay has been a key member of the Dark Order over the last year. Since joining the group she has been a staple of the faction’s skits on Being the Elite as well as competing as the group’s only female member.

From everyone at WrestleTalk, we wish Anna Jay all the best and a speedy recovery.
