As per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson has signed with WWE.
Earlier today, Steveson teased a WWE deal, tweeting that he had “just put the pen to paper“.
Steveson won gold in freestyle wrestling during the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year. WWE had shown interest in Steveson before his Olympic showing, with Steveson previously saying that Vince McMahon personally contacted him about a WWE run.
Steveson had been in talks with a number of different parties about his future, including Dana White of the UFC.
Steveson appeared at SummerSlam on August 21, making his way to the ring with fellow Olypic gold medal winner Tamyra Mensah-Stock.
Steveson’s brother, Bobby Steveson, was announced as part of the latest class of WWE Performance Center signees, along with Joseph Fatu, brother of The Usos.
