**Update: Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful notes that he was informed that Toni Storm requested her release, and that budget cuts were not listed as the reason for Storm’s departure**
WWE SmackDown star Toni Storm has left the company today (December 29), Fightful has confirmed.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the news on his Twitter today.
Toni’s last match was against Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the Christmas Eve episode of SmackDown.
It was not stated whether she requested her release, or what the reason behind her release was, or if any other releases are coming today.
Those that I spoke to within WWE believe Toni Storm asked for her release from the company, though I'm also making an effort to reach out to those close to her. The memo that went out did not list budget cuts as the reason, as has been tradition of late.
